Sheeple

Have you heard of "Sheeple"?  Sheeple is a word combo between Sheep and People. Meaning, people who base their choices on what an authority figure or someone else told them, without using their own knowledge or discernment .

I think most of us, including myself, could say that we have all been Sheeple at one time or another. Going with the crowd or "herd" with out asking questions or having an understanding of why we do some things.

One thing that stands out to me is children's vaccinations. It is something I knew NOTHING about and would have never thought to question it, before reading a couple books recommended by friends. In these books, it explains what is in each vaccine, the benefits, the possible side effects, the chances of actually contracting the virus you are trying to vaccinate against , the likeliness of the vaccine causing the virus, and so much more. This really opened my eyes and my whole world to so many questions. Josh and I decided against almost all vaccines for our family. It wasn't an easy decision. It took time, research, and prayer. There is no one right answer, for everybody. But I believe this one is the right one for us.

This post isn't really about vaccines, but about asking questions & seeking answers.

Let's not follow the crowd in anything we do.  Ask questions. Become aware of the things we do and the choices we make for ourselves and the people we affect!

Shakeology protein BITES Melissa Means style;)

WARNING: These bad boys are naturally delicious and dangerous in large numbers!!!

SO as usual I was craving chocolate... and peanut butter.... so I decided to combine a couple protein ball recipes and add my own twist.  By the way.. I like the sound of protein Bites better than "balls". Just sayin'...

SO this is what I came up with! I made a huge batch because I always make too much of everything, ask my friends and family:) This could be cut in half and probably be more appropriate for a few people rather than a small army.

Ingredients:
1 scoop of chocolate Shakeology
1 cup Quick Oats- I used good ole' Quaker
1 1/2 cups natural chunky Peanut Butter
3/4 cup unsweetened canned pumpkin ( my not so secret ingredient , anymore)
2 tbsp raw honey
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp natural unsweetened ghiradelly's cocoa-optional
1 pinch of sea salt- optional
1/2 cup unsweetened shredded coconut

Start by blending your oats to create a fine oat flour. Combine oat flour, Chocolate Shakeology, salt, Cocoa, 1/4 cup coconut (save the other half for rolling) into a small bowl. In another bowl combine peanut butter, pumpkin, honey, & vanilla. Add the dry mix into this bowl and dive in with your hands and mix, mix, mix!

Spread the remaining coconut onto a flat clean surface .Roll mixture into 1 inch balls and roll in the coconut . This recipe makes about 40 bites! lol

I am a mommy of a 9 month old!!??

How did this happen?? It seriously seems like YESTERDAY my biggest concerns were checking every 5 minutes to make sure he was breathing( yes, I was that mom), trying not to get peed on every diaper change( that lil' fire hose was QUICK!), and just survive the nights of constant nursing and lack of sleep!

Now here we are May 18th and that perfect lil' nugget has turned into a jumping, crawling, bouncing, STANDING, silly, toothy BOY full of personality and charm! I cannot believe in  3 months I will have a 1 year old!!! Where is that pause button at?!

I could not be more thankful for the joy he brings to our lives. Every single day he makes life an adventure full of surprises. He is my trusty sidekick ;) or maybe I am his...lol.

Happy 9 months to the sweetest silly boy I know...

Corbin James, I love you to the moon and back! <3 Mama

So much to do, so little time!

Today is week 3, day 1 of my p90x journey. It's going much faster than I would have imagined! I'm proud to say I haven't missed a day. Usually by now, I would have made about 10,000 excuses for why "I couldn't work out today". Some of them would have even been legitimate! Finding time for fitness and healthy eating is NOT always convenient  or easy, but I know the end result will be worth it!

I am blessed to be able to stay home with Corbin, who is now 8 months old! He keeps me BUSY! Along with being 8 months old comes two new teeth, soldier crawling -which has turned into more of a frog hop, separation anxiety, and never ending curiosity. Naps are always fun...when they happen! :) I am thankful to have a pretty happy lil' guy. Even when he is overtired and laying in his crib, he finds reason to laugh. What he is laughing at.. I have no idea. Maybe it's because he knows he has me wrapped & I'll be in to check on him soon.

Well here I am at 9:30 pm blogging ,when I should be finishing the last half of my workout! ( he woke up early from his nap today) SO finding time for all the things that keep me busy, sometimes require a late night workout... -___-  Wish me some energy!

I'm finally a blogger!

YAY! I'm finally a blogger! Thank you to my bestie Stacia for pushing me for ONLY the last 2 YEARS! haha

Well today is day 5 of 90, of my P90X adventure! Any of you who have done some P90X know how bad day 2 - Plyometrics- kicks your butt!!! For those of you who haven't, it's a lot of "explosive jumping moves" as the P90X guide says. I'd say explosive is right. I am now able to walk normal again. If you would have seen me two days ago, you'd think I had some sort of rash going on. Yes. Cute. I know. No worries, No rash. It was just my sore body telling me I did something RIGHT!

I will do my best to keep the updates coming without boring you to death. No promises :)
